Section 46 Brent, Ben, Ashley
Why do you think that there is any other case in which the men of such distinction in oratory, such pleasure of speech, such praise, such grace, such prestige are and often were so few, who are engaged in this work? All pleasures must be destroyed, the eagerness of this effort must be dissolved, (and) entertainment, jest, feast, and conversation of the household must be abandoned. Therefore in this respect work annoys men and turns them from devotion not because they lack either talent or boyhood instruction.
